This short documentary follows Paul Labas, a third-generation slate maker born and raised in Granville, N.Y. This small town rests on the border of Vermont and New York and is known as the colored slate capital of the world. The town’s development has historically relied on the success of the slate industry. But, as time passes, the town and the industry face many challenges - and Paul finds himself at the center of them.
